Shin Shin Fundraising Event

In December of 2019, YAF participated in a fundraiser for the Shin Shin Educational Foundation, an award-winning charity that build and improve schools in impoverished areas of China. Members of YAF sold their artwork and donated the proceeds to Shin Shin. Many members also volunteered for the fundraiser. In total, YAF was able to raise $5900 for Shin Shin during the fundraiser.

"For me, being able to take part in this event was very interesting. This event allowed me to use my art to improve the lives of others. Shin Shin uses the money they raise from the fundraiser to build schools in low-income areas and provide better education. On top of all that, I also got to see what others created for this event. I also managed to sell my artwork at the fundraiser, so it was pretty memorable. I was glad that the money that was made by selling the artworks that me and my classmates created is used to show that helping others had no boundaries, and that the money will go to improving the lives of others. It was a great time, and I really enjoyed being able to participate in this event."

"I volunteered in three different avenues; I was a volunteer at a non-profit organization, as nutrition consult, and taught classes as a volunteer. All three have been enriching and valuable in the development of my career, lifestyle, and personality. Everything I experienced helped me understand the value of offering your own time to help others. I want to help you understand what it means to volunteer as well, so I will share some of my most fond memories as a Youth Art Foundation member.
Last year, the Youth Art Foundation members and I attended a Shin Shin fundraising event, and I was happy to find out that our students offered to use their talent and skill to create masterpieces for the auction. The money the students helped raise will go to building better schools for lower income families in China, and I’m glad that the students were so willing to put their time and energy into this project."
